The Thanksgiving holiday will interrupt the City of Casper’s garbage collection schedule, according to a news release.

All residents on the Thursday sanitation route will have their trash picked up on Friday, and those on the Friday route will have it picked up on Saturday.

Residents should have their trash containers placed on the street next to the sidewalk curb by 7 a.m.

The city's regional solid waste facility, also known as the balefill, will be closed on Thursday.

It will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Other city offices will be closed Friday.
Residents are also reminded to “cease the grease” and properly dispose of cooking oil from turkey fryers. Cooking oil from fryers should be cooled, poured into a sealable container and taken to the special waste and diversion facility across the street from the balefill.

Cooking oil disposal is free of charge. Other grease and fats from cooking should be poured into a container, allowed to cool and solidify, and then thrown into the trash.
Information on holiday hours for trash collection and the balefill is available at www.casperwy.gov or call the solid waste division at 235-8246.
