Get ready for a heavy dose of angst -- emphasis on "heavy" -- as Loudwire teams up with Beartooth to bring you the exclusive premiere of the band's new song 'Ignorance Is Bliss' off their upcoming debut album, 'Disgusting.'

In the track, heard in the player above, frontman Caleb Shomo belts out the line, "Pick up the pieces / Fix my diseases." If that sounds like a pretty deep sentiment, it's because Shomo laid himself bare lyrically for listeners to embrace.

"'Ignorance Is Bliss' is a track about my depression," Shomo tells Loudwire. "It's about being completely empty and dead inside and few things ever being able to change it. But at the end of the day it's not gonna control me." And control him, it hasn't. In fact, it's inspired the former Attack Attack! rocker, who is delivering a mix of metalcore and old-school punk on his new band's 'Disgusting' album.

Shomo also stated in the band's bio, "I know this may sound strange, but I didn't write these songs for anyone. I wrote just to write. All of the songs came about because I love writing Beartooth songs. That's it. I won't record a song unless I love it, unless I believe in it. I won't do it any other way."

The band, fleshed out by guitarists Taylor Lumley and Kamron Bradbury, bassist Oshie Bichar and drummer Brandon Mullins, will release 'Disgusting' on June 10. The disc has already yielded another track, 'Beaten in Lips,' which can be heard here. If you like what you hear from 'Ignorance Is Bliss,' the album 'Disgusting' is currently available for pre-order via iTunes and at the band's website.
