There's still money to be made in the world of rock! If you need proof, then look no further to Forbes' annual Celebrity 100 List, which counts down the earnings of the top grossing performers of the year. In the just published list, you'll find acts like AC/DC, Muse and Foo Fighters, who all did fairly well financially over the past year.

It should come as no surprise that Taylor Swift topped the list. The pop and country superstar made an estimated $170 million over the past year thanks to her music, touring and other endorsements. You may remember that Swift fell shy of selling the most tickets of the year during her 2015 trek. That's because veteran rockers AC/DC claimed that honor, and AC/DC also tops all rock acts on the Forbes Celebrity 100 List by coming in at No. 17. The band made an estimated $67.5 million largely due to their touring and the continued sales of their 2014 Rock or Bust album.

A little further down you'll find Muse and Foo Fighters, a pair of acts who toured heavily over the calendar year. Muse finished at No. 44 on the list with an estimated $49 million, while Foo Fighters were hot on their heels at No. 45 at $48.5 million. The full list can be at Forbes.com.

It would not be surprise to see AC/DC repeat with a spot on next year's list as the band has continued to tour, even after the exit of vocalist Brian Johnson. Axl Rose has stepped up to take over the vocalist position on the band's remaining 2016 tour dates and his addition has brought a curiosity factor to the band's shows. Foo Fighters, meanwhile, have taken a break this year, so shy of a late year surprise, they will likely fall off the list next year.
