As more and more people move to the Casper, it's getting a little more difficult to tell the newbies from the veterans. However, there are a few telltale signs that easily let you know someone is new to the area. These five things are dead giveaways that you "ain't from around these parts".
They Don't Say "CY Avenue" Correctly
Pronouncing it "Cy" (as in "sigh") vice "C-Y" (as in "see why") is an instant giveaway you're new to the area. Only Google and Siri are allowed to say it that way and we don't trust either of them half the time anyway.
They Say "Three-Zero-Seven"
We all know that technically three-zero-seven is the correct verbiage for our area code, but no one uses that in everyday speech.
Say it with us: 3-Oh-7! That's better.
They Don't Know What "Outer Drive" Refers To
We all know "technically" Wyoming Boulevard is correct, but we still call that little stretch of Wyoming Highway 258, Outer Drive.
Learn the lingo!
They Don’t Know How To Drive On Ice/Snow
If you're going to live here, you should learn this first. Especially considering we only have 2 real seasons anyway: winter and construction.
P.S. - Get rid of that sports car and buy yourself a real Wyoming vehicle. There's nothing worst than getting stuck behind someone's Camaro in the middle of December.
They Don't Know Where To Get The Best Ranch
Us Oil City folk can argue all day about where to get the best steak or who makes the best burger, but one thing is for certain, we all know Peaches makes the best ranch... end of story.
