What is it to be a successful? Is it to make the most money? Is it having the biggest house? Is it having the happiest and healthiest family? One person’s success may look completely different than another. It is by far subjective. However, there are some key factors that can objectively compare city to city.

The folks at Zippia.com ranked the cities in the Cowboy State, and they gave us a top ten list. The factors they used to determine success were poverty level, median household income, and unemployment rate. They looked at towns in Wyoming that have over 5000 people. For the Cowboy state that gave them 17 cities to evaluate.

The big thing to note about this data is that it doesn’t take into consideration the current economic conditions. The coal, oil, and natural gas industries are hurting which these numbers do not show. These numbers show the reality of 2014. I'd like to believe if the town did it once, they can do it again.

The author from Zippia, Chris Kolmar, even wrote about the subjective nature of this story saying,

If you’re still looking at this post thinking, ‘Surely, such superficial methods can’t possibly measure a city, or rather, the individuals that make up that city’s success!’ well, you’re probably right. - Chris Kolmar wrote
