Have you ever wondered how Wyoming keeps a healthy population of fish? One of the ways is stocking the lakes and streams. The Auburn Fish Hatchery operated by Wyoming Game and Fish Department helps ensure a healthy population of Snake River Cutthroat. Although the hatchery is in Idaho, the operation helps maintain a plentiful population of cutthroat in Wyoming. They produce so many eggs that half the eggs they harvest go out of state to trade for other fish like walleye, pike, catfish, and bass.
