We're only three weeks into the season, and it's already been a long year for Wyoming football fans. How bad are the Pokes? According to ESPN's latest College Football Power Index, Wyoming is ranked 128th out of 128 FBS teams in the country.

In three games so far, the winless Cowboys have been outscored by 47 points by an FCS team that doesn't have a mascot (North Dakota), a team that hadn't won a non-conference road game since the 80's (Eastern Michigan) and a team that lost to a Big Sky opponent in week one (Washington State).

Which begs the question, will Wyoming win a game this season? ESPN's Power Index projects that the Pokes will win either one or two games on their schedule. Looking ahead, here are the most likely targets for the Cowboys' elusive first victory.

9/26 vs. New Mexico - Our opponent this weekend in Laramie is one of the worst teams in the Mountain West Conference. The Lobos are currently ranked 107th in the ESPN Power Index and are projected to finish the season with a record of 5-12.

10/03 @ Appalachian State - If the Pokes can't pull off the upset against the New Mexico, their odds of beating the Mountaineers on the road are much longer. ASU is among the better teams in the Sun Belt Conference and ESPN projects that they will win between 8 and 9 games.

10/10 @ Air Force - Playing at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs is never easy, especially this year when the Falcons figure to be one of the better teams in the Mountain West. ESPN ranks them 66th in the Power Index and projects them to go 8-4.

10/17 vs. Nevada - This will be one of the most 'win-able' games on Wyoming's schedule. The Wolf Pack are 1-2 so far, ranked 103rd in ESPN's Power Index and projected to finish 6-6. Plus, the Pokes have them at home, which will be an advantage.

10/24 @ Boise State - The Broncos will cut Wyoming's defense to shreds on the blue turf in Boise. This game could be a blowout before the end of the first quarter.

10/30 @ Utah State - Although it's a road game, the Aggies are one of the weaker opponents on the Cowboys schedule. Off to a 1-2 start, ESPN's Power Index ranks them 81st, with a projected record of 6-6.

11/07 vs. Colorado State - You can throw out the records when these two teams play. And this year, neither team will have a good one. CSU is currently ranked 95th in the ESPN Power Index, which projects them to finish 5-6. If the Pokes don't beat New Mexico or Nevada first, they could pull off the upset in Laramie against their Border War Rivals.

11/14 @ San Diego State - It's a down year for the Mountain West, which wasn't a great football conference to begin with. San Diego State will be one of several conference teams hovering at or around the .500 mark. Ranked 101st in the ESPN Power Index, the Aztects are projected to go 5-7. Still, they probably have too much firepower for the Pokes to match on the road.

11/28 vs. UNLV - This will likely be a showdown of the two worst teams in the Mountain West. If, for some reason, Wyoming can't win any of their first 11 games, they could still be the favorites going into the season finale against the Running Rebels. Like the Cowboys, UNLV is 0-3 so far. They are ranked 121st out of 128 teams in the ESPN Power Index, with a projected record of 3-9.
