THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RIVERTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON MDT WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TIMING... RAIN SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON WILL TURN OVER TO SNOW THIS EVENING AND MAY BECOME QUITE HEAVY AT TIMES OVERNIGHT... TAPERING OFF WEDNESDAY MORNING. STRONG NORTH WIND WILL ALSO DEVELOP OVERNIGHT TONIGHT CAUSING AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW LATE. SOME RAIN SHOWERS COULD MIX WITH OR TURN TO SNOW BY LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON... ESPECIALLY ABOVE 7000 FEET.

* SNOWFALL AMOUNTS... 5 TO 12 INCHES.

* VISIBILITY AND WIND... UNDER ONE QUARTER MILE AT TIMES IN HEAVY SNOW AND NORTH WIND 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH.

* MAIN IMPACT... ROADS WILL BECOME SLUSHY AND SLICK WITH VISIBILITIES SHARPLY REDUCED AT TIMES IN HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG NORTH WIND. INTERSTATE 25 AND MOST AREA HIGHWAYS WILL SEE HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS AT TIMES LATE TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.
