After a nearly five-year hiatus, the Violent Femmes reunited at Coachella in 2013. Now, the band has unveiled their first new song in the 15 years that have passed since their last full-length, 2000’s Freak Magnet. Take a listen to “Love Love Love Love Love” below:

Featuring murky horns, the song brings a dark edge to its outwardly cheerful message – one that finds singer-guitarist Gordon Gano declaring, “I want love, love, love, love, love all around me.”

While touring, the band recorded the song – along with new material – at a studio in Hobart, Tasmania. The resulting work is set to appear on Happy New Year, an upcoming, four-track EP that will arrive on clear vinyl just in time for Record Store Day on April 18. Check out the EP artwork below.

“Happy to have some new recordings for people that have loved our music and would be honored to have a few new ears hear us for the first time, too,” Gano told Rolling Stone.

After the EP hit stores, the Violent Femmes will embark on a 35-city tour in June, including an appearance with the Barenaked Ladies on their "Last Summer on Earth" tour. From there, they'll make stops scheduled through July. Get more details here.
