For 117 years, The Old Buckhorn Bar and Parlor in Laramie has been one of the Cowboy State's biggest, and most notorious, taverns.  Meanwhile, Joe's Drive-In Liquor and Bar has advertised itself as the "smallest bar" in Rock Springs since 1961.

The two legendary Wyoming watering holes were recently inducted into the "Dive Bar Hall of Hame" by a the Dive Bar Club, a clothing company that promotes the best neighborhood taverns in the country.

Joe's and the Buckhorn are two of 80 regionally famous dives in the prestigious fraternity, including places like Spike's Keg of Nails in Michigan, Huc-A-Poo's Bites and Booze in Georgia and the Cock O' the Walk Bar in Oklahoma.

Joe's describes itself as a "small, hole-in-the-wall bar with friendly service and great drinks". It has been a neighborhood fixture for generations. The Buckhorn is steeped in history and has the bullet holes to prove it. If only those walls could talk.

Both establishments are genuine Wyoming treasures. Next time you crack open a cold one, raise your glass to two of the best "dive bars" in the entire country.
