Two Wyoming residents died over the weekend as a result of similar crashes that occurred within one hour of each other, about a mile apart on I-25 near Glenrock.

Linda Hurley, 55, and Jason Monday, 30, both died on Sunday, according to crash reports from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Each crash involved a vehicle entering a spin while trying to cross an icy bridge.

Hurley was a passenger in a Ford F-150 that was southbound pulling a U-Haul trailer on I-25 at 5 a.m. Saturday near Glenrock. Near mile market 165.9, the pickup went to cross an icy curved bridge deck, and entered a clockwise rotation.

The pickup and trailer spun about 170 degrees as they left the roadway and fell into a steep ditch. As it went into the ditch, the pickup rolled multiple times.

The driver, who was wearing their seatbelt, remained in the vehicle during the crash and was later taken to Wyoming Medical Center.

The front-seat passenger -- Hurley -- was not wearing a seatbelt, and was thrown from the vehicle. Hurley was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second crash occurred 58 minutes later, according to the Patrol. A beige Ford F-150, driven by Monday, was northbound on I-25 and crossed an icy bridge deck near milepost 164.8.

While crossing the bridge, the Ford went into a counterclockwise rotation. The pickup spun about 165 degrees and went into the median, where it rolled twice.

Monday, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the pickup.

Monday was taken to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, and then was flown to Aurora, Colorado, due to his injuries. Monday died on the way to Aurora, and was pronounced dead at 4:44 p.m. Saturday.

The road conditions in each crash, according to the Patrol's crash reports, involved ice or frost on the roadway. Fog was present in each incident.

Speed is listed as a contributing factor in Monday's crash. No contributing factors are listed in the crash that killed Hurley.
