Three Casper residents facing charges ranging anywhere from aggravated child abuse and child endangerment meth are having their cases move forward in court.

Twenty-five year old Stephanie Shirts, along with 25-year old Bobbi Humphreys and 34-year old Jason Cathcart have each waived their preliminary hearings.

The case started on Tuesday, September 16th, when police were called to the Wyoming Medical Center about a one-year-old girl with severe head trauma.

The child had significant head injuries and was on a ventilator.

The officer also observed burns to the face and head, as well as multiple injuries in various stages of healing over her body

Officers went to a house on 1700 block of South Fairdale Avenue, where the three suspects lived.

They checked on other children in the house who did not appear to have any injuries, and they were taken into protective custody.

Shirts is accused of burning the child's face with a hot sauce pan, as well as shaking the child violently and smothering her, to get her to stop crying.

During search warrants executed on the residence, officers - with the help of a k9 dog - found and collected drug paraphernalia evidence.

Shirts, Humphreys and Cathcart's cases will now head to district court, and are scheduled to enter their pleas within the next 30 days.

As for the exact charges:

Shirts was charged with one count of aggravated child abuse punishable by up to 25 years in prison, four counts of child abuse with each count punishable by up to five years in prison, and four counts of child endangerment with methamphetamine, with each count punishable by up to five years in prison.
