The Williamsburg Park Concert Series started on a high note over the weekend, as Oregon indie heroes the Shins heated things up with support from Man Man.

With the beer flowing and the cool breeze blowing from the East River, it was the perfect night for an outdoor concert, and the Shins surely knew how to get things started. They kicked off their set with ‘The Rifle’s Spiral,’ off of their latest record, ‘Port of Morrow,’ and went on to play a strong of other new tracks, including ‘Simple Song,’ ‘It’s Only Life’ and ‘Bait and Switch.’ Fans also sang along to favorites such as ‘New Slang,’ ‘Phantom Limb,’ ‘Caring Is Creepy’ and ‘Sleeping Lessons.'

Opening act Man Man is a Philly-based band with a lot of spirit and a unique, hypnotic blend of sounds. Fashion-forward frontman Honus Honus donned various costumes, among them a blue blazer with padded shoulders and a burgundy velvet cloak. By the end of the set, he'd switched to a snuggly white fur coat.

The Shins and Man Man were only the beginning of what promises to be a memorable concert season. Click here to see who else is set to play Williamsburg Park this Summer.
