The Casper Events Center will host the 68th commencement ceremony of Casper College tonight beginning at 7pm. Good luck to all that have put in the hard work to better themselves.

Commencement speaker will be First Lady Carol Mead. Mead has chosen children’s issues as her primary area of focus as First Lady. According to information provided by the governor’s office, “She and Governor Mead believe that children are Wyoming’s greatest asset. To that end, her work is aimed at promoting early childhood literacy, the arts, and healthy lifestyles. She has partnered with a myriad of public and private organizations both locally and nationally in her work over the last three years.”

As of this writing, 269 Casper College graduates plan to participate in this year’s commencement. A total of 736 students graduated from Casper College during the 2013-2014 academic year earning a total of 717 degrees and 210 certificates.

The commencement ceremony is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
