TED is a global community and a not for profit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics, from science to business to global issues.. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world including an upcoming event here in Casper.

TEDxCasperLive is a live simulcast from the 2014 TED Conference, held 3/18 at the Iris Stadium Theatre. The event here in Casper is called TEDxCasperLive, where x=independently organized TED event. At the TEDxCasperLive event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including this one, are self-organized.

The TEDxCasperLive Event will start at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, March 18th at the Iris Theatre.  And you are able to join any number of sessions you would like. Tickets to the TEDxCasperLive event are FREE. To reserve your tickets for any of the
sessions, click "Join" on the corresponding EVENT page, found here. Your tickets will be available at the Iris Theatre Box Office on the day of the show. Due to seating limitations in the auditorium, only the first 100 RSVPs for each session will be accepted. Additional tickets will be available at the show on a first come, first served basis.

Here is the schedule including some of the featured speakers.

Session: Retrospect: 9:30am-11:15am with speakers including technology designer Bran Ferren, architect Marc Kushner, documentary filmmaker Yoruba Richen and Music Producer/DJ Mark Ronson.

Session: Reshape: 12pm-1:45pm includes Matthew Carter, type designer, Amanda Burden, urban planner, Gavin Schmidt, climate scientist and others.

Session: All Stars Session, Planet Dearth: 3:00pm-4:15pm

Session: All Stars Session, Beauty and the Brain: 4:45pm-6:00pm

Session: Wish: 7:00pm-8:45pm will feature Bill and Melinda Gates as well as Sting, Zak Ebrahim and Charmian Gooch.
