Possibly trying to regain some goodwill after the bizarre public relations nightmare that ignited over the decision to torch a few Saabs in their new 'Diane Young' video, Vampire Weekend recruited beloved character actor Steve Buscemi to march with them in yesterday's (March 31) Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet Festival in New York City.

The Internet was aflutter this morning thanks to Vampire Weekend's appearance on the Canadiann show 'QTV,' where they played three songs from their forthcoming album 'Modern Vampires of the City.' Hopefully, Vampire Weekend fans out there who circled May 7 on the calendar did so in pencil. That's because the New York City band has pushed back the release date of their new album, 'Modern Vampires of the City,' by one week, to May 14.

It's been nearly three years since we've heard new music from Vampire Weekend, but the wait is finally over. The band has premiered two news songs -- 'Diane Young,' the first single off their forthcoming 'Modern Vampires of the City' album, and 'Step,' another cut from the disc -- ahead of the May 7 release date, and you can listen to both in their entirety here.

Vampire Weekend used both a modern and an old-fashioned method to reveal the title and release date for their third album, 'Modern Vampires of the City,' which is due out May 7. The band tweeted the news after it placed a classified ad in the New York Times, making this a dual print and social media reveal.
