Metallica's Orion Music + More festival just got a little more awesome with the reveal of several new acts that have been added to the bill. Highlighting the new additions is the reunion of Robert Trujillo's onetime project Infectious Grooves.
It's not uncommon for bands to have some inner tensions, but what better way to get rid of that than shooting a video where you and your bandmates get in some bare knuckle boxing. That's the setup for Dead Sara's latest video, 'Lemon Scent,' which primarily pits frontwoman Emily Armstrong and guitarist Siouxsie Medley against each other in a bloody battle.
In late 2012, the Offspring toured with Dead Sara. During the Offpsring's set, Emily Armstrong from Dead Sara would join the band for a stripped down version of 'Gone Away.' A video of an October performance of the song at a show at the Hollywood Palladium, as well as footage of the pair recording a studio version of the song, has been released (watch below).
L.A. rock quartet Dead Sara have been a touring machine in 2012, hitting the road as support for such bands as the Used, Chevelle, Bush and much more. Now Dead Sara are set to get their biggest exposure yet by opening for UK rockers Muse on their 2013 North American trek.
Dead Sara have certainly done quite well with their own music this year, but it never hurts to have some fun with a cover song once in a while. The group just posted the first of what they intend to be a series of informational videos titled ‘Face to Face Fridays’ in which they take and respond to questions from their fans.
Dead Sara are one of the year’s breakout bands and have only built their profile further over the summer on the Vans Warped Tour. So, it’s with a bit of sadness that the group is having to bow out early.
Riot Fest 2012 is going to be a major bash. Organizers have just announced a slew of new additions to the bill, which will make the inaugural try of hosting an outdoor event one for the ages.
