ESPN has played many a band's music over the years as part of highlight packages and intro and exit music from commercials, but next year they'll have some specifically commissioned music from Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera as the musician will pen songs for their World Cup coverage.

Being of Brazilian roots and a major fan of soccer, the invite to pen music for the massive event was a dream come true for the single. Adding to the special experience for Cavalera is the fact that his son Zyon will be handling the drums and adding some Brazilian flavored percussion for his songs as well.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup will take place in Brazil, Cavalera's home country, and it's scheduled to begin on June 12, 2014. Matches will continue through July 13. This will be the 20th FIFA World Cup competition.

Soulfly's 'Savages' disc arrived back in late September. The band's ninth studio album has already yielded the singles 'Bloodshed' and 'Master of Savagery.' The disc features special guest appearances by Lody Kong's Igor Cavalera, I Declare War's Jamie Hanks, Clutch's Neil Fallon and Napalm Death's Mitch Harris. At present the band is off the road, but they've booked U.K. dates for late February and March.
