When you think “Juggalos,” Soulfly might not be the first act that comes to mind. Still, the band will make their way to the wooded area of Cave-in-Rock, Illinois for the 2012 Gathering of the Juggalos.

This marks the second year that Insane Clown Posse‘s faithful followers have brought the party to the tiny Illinois town, and much like last year, they’re bringing a wide variety of performers to take part.

Veteran metallers Soulfly got the invite this year, and singer Max Cavalera tells the Roadrunner Records website, “It’s a challenge and at the same time it’s an honor that they specifically asked for Soulfly to play at the festival. We’re gonna give our best show possible and we’re going to f— s— up at the Gathering of the Juggalos.”

Last year’s event featured Charlie Sheen, Ice Cube, CKY, Kittie, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, MC Hammer, Busta Rhymes, and Saliva among others. The lineup for this year’s bash is still coming together. The festival takes place Aug. 8-12 and tickets are on sale here.
