For the past 17 years, 9/11 has proven to be just as patriotic of a day as July 4th. Since 2001, presidents have referred to 9/11 as "Patriots Day." So why is it not a national holiday? Meaning banks, schools and government buildings remain open.

Do you think 9/11 should be a Federal holiday? If it did, do you think it would be commercialized like our Memorial Day or Labor Day? (i.e. mattress sales and a reason to drink)

YouGov asked the same question, and the results are

1. 38% say it SHOULD become a federal holiday.

2. 42% say it shouldn't.

3. And the other 20% aren't sure.
