The main suspect in armed robberies at two Loaf 'N Jug convenience stores early Sunday was arrested Tuesday.

Nathaniel Knox Neuman, 21, was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and possession of a controlled substance during his initial appearance before Natrona County Circuit Court on Thursday.

If convicted on all counts, Neuman faces between five and 25 years for each of the robbery charges and up to one year in jail on the possession charge.

He told the court that he was from Rawlins, had been homeless for the past year, had no phone and no address.

Because of the lack of ties to the Casper community, the seriousness of the allegations, and a prior drug possession conviction, Assistant District Attorney Mike Schafer recommended, and Circuit Court Judge Steven Brown agreed, that his bond be set at $50,000.

That amount is twice the bond set on Wednesday for Neuman's co-defendant Katherine Good. Police arrested Good on Tuesday.

The case began early Sunday when a clerk reported an armed robbery at the Loaf ‘N Jug store at 4603 W. Yellowstone Highway in Mills, and about a half-hour later the clerk at the Loaf ‘N Jug at 938 S. Poplar St. in Casper also reported an armed robbery, according to court records.

In Mills, her accomplice was a male wearing a hoodie and carrying a silver weapon, believed to be a knife, she said. The robbery failed after the clerk told him to get a job and he left.

They tried again at the store on Poplar Street, and the male accomplice got away with $100. Good was identified in closed circuit video shot in the first robbery attempt.

After being advised of her rights, Good, 20, said she acted as the lookout and getaway driver for two robbery attempts at the stores.

She admitted her part in the robberies after first denying it.

She claimed the male partner was her brother, but later identified Neuman.

They will have preliminary hearings within three weeks to determine whether they should be bound over to district court for trial.
