Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith Picks Live Tracks for Free EP
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the hardest working bands in music today. Fans love the high intensity of their live shows and it's obvious the members thoroughly enjoy what they do. Today, the band announced via Twitter that their drummer and Will Ferrell doppelgänger Chad Smith picked his five favorite live recordings, all of which are part of a free EP available on the band's website.
The list includes three deep cuts from the 2006 album 'Stadium Arcadium': 'Strip My Mind,' 'Wet Sand' and 'Snow.' The other two tracks, 'Breaking the Girl' and 'Power of Equality,' hearken all the way back to 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik,' the album that put the Chili Peppers on the mainstream map.
The recordings come from the 'I'm With You' world tour. The tour kicked off in September of 2011 and continued with very few breaks until late April of this year. While the band was on the road, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
And even though they're still busy, members of the band are finding time to pursue other projects. Guitarist Josh Klinghoffer just released a new album from his side project, Dot Hacker. And at some point, Flea wrote an autobiography. We're tired just from reading about all of this.
