The American Red Cross of Wyoming is in need of volunteers throughout Central Wyoming. New Red Cross volunteers are trained to assist with local disaster relief and preparedness programs.

Whether it is fire, flood or accident, the American Red Cross has been front and center for many of the recent events that have hit central Wyoming and the state. When the Cole Creek fire destroyed 15 homes near Casper, the American Red Cross of Wyoming was on the ground helping with cleanup and recovery. When the Niobrara River flooded Lusk, Red Cross of Wyoming opened a shelter and helped coordinate recovery efforts. After the multi-vehicle pileups on I-80 last winter, Red Cross opened shelters in Laramie and Cheyenne to assist those affected. And Red Cross of Wyoming responds to numerous home fires throughout the state every year.

The mission of The American Red Cross is to "prevent and alleviate human suffering", and more volunteers are needed to respond to the number of incidents and events.
