While Wyoming football fans prepare to replace running back Brian Hill, who is expected to forego his senior season and enter the 2017 NFL Draft, another potential loss looms on the horizon.

NFL scouts are drooling over quarterback Josh Allen, the junior college transfer who just finished his sophomore season; his first year as the Pokes signal caller.

While Wyoming fans hold out hope that Allen will return for his junior year, his draft stock is rapidly rising.

A recent Bleacher Report story, heralds the 6'5", 220 lb. gun slinger as potential first round pick and one of the top quarterback prospects.

Many scouts are comparing Allen to Carson Wentz, the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of North Dakota State.

Like Wentz, Allen was also mentored by former North Dakota State and current Wyoming coach Craig Bohl. They both played in Bohl's pro-style offense; they're both big, both have big arms and come from a pro-style offense.

The crop of quarterbacks eligible for the 2017 Draft is widely considered to be one of the weakest in recent years. If Allen's stock continues to rise, don't be surprised if he has already played his last game in a Wyoming uniform.
