A new album recorded by Britpop legends Blur is still in the waiting room and may never see the light of day, according to singer Damon Albarn.

He recently talked to NME about the recordings Blur began in 2013 that they've yet to finish. "There's about 15 songs that we recorded in Hong Kong," he said. "The annoying thing is, if I'd have been able to write the lyrics there and then about being there, we'd have a finished record. But sometimes, if you can't get it all done at once, it sort of dissipates really, and I don't know what I'd sing about now with that record."

Not that Albarn has been sitting idle while waiting to wrap up that Blur album, which would be their first since 2003's 'Think Tank.' He released his debut solo album, the restless and entertaining 'Everyday Robots,' earlier this year. He also hinted at the possibility of a new Gorillaz album as well as a second solo record.

"I like making records in short periods of time, if I can," he said. "I love doing that. Sometimes you get some amazing energy when you just do something in, like, 10 days. It was a different process with 'Everyday Robots' because that was really thought out."

As for new Blur music, he added, "I would do some more work on it, definitely. There's some great tunes on there, but it may just be one of those records that never comes out."
