Andrea Ingle was worried about her son, Dylan, who recently developed an alcohol problem -- and had a warrant for desertion from the U.S. Army, she said Monday.

"We were trying to figure out what to do," Ingle told told Natrona County Circuit Court Judge Michael Patchen during her initial appearance on Monday.

"He'd never been in trouble in his life," she said. "He ran home to me."

But her harboring a deserter, and acting in panic, lead to several conflicts that resulted in her being charged with two misdemeanors. And her boyfriend was charged with two more.

Boyfriend Darrell Craycraft along with her son Seth Ingle, planned to drive Dylan Ingle to Billings, Mont., so he could avoid arrest.

Craycraft had met a man at a park in north Casper. The man drove Craycraft and Andrea Ingle to their residence in the 500 block of South Jackson Street.

Craycraft wanted the man to drive them to Billings then. But the man said he couldn't do it on Saturday, so Craycraft began beating him and saying he would kill him. Craycraft then ran away.

He was later arrested and charged with two counts of battery.

While one officer was dealing with the beating, another officer had arrived at the residence looking for Dylan Ingle. Dylan's brother told police Dylan wasn't at the residence.

But Dylan had climbed into the attic, and the officer called for him to come down. Dylan then fell partway through the kitchen ceiling, was persuaded to surrender and then taken into custody on the felony desertion warrant.

Andrea Ingle later saw Dylan had been taken into custody and began loudly cursing an officer.

She was charged with a misdemeanor count of being an accessory after the fact for aiding a deserter, and a misdemeanor count of breaching the peace.

She also had a blood alcohol content of 0.20, which is 2.5 times the legal limit.

On Monday, she pleaded guilty to both counts. Patchen sentenced her to 10 days in jail and one year of probation.

Craycraft pleaded guilty to the two counts of battery. Patchen sentenced him to 30 days in jail and one year of probation.

Assistant District Attorney Mike Schafer said there may be a felony charge against Craycraft for being an accessory after the fact in harboring a deserter.

After the initial appearances, Schafer said the federal government has taken custody of Dylan Ingle.

But dealing with desertion on a local level varies. Craycraft could be charged with a felony because he is not a relative. Andrea Ingle, however, is Dylan's mother and harboring a deserter by a family member is a misdemeanor, Schafer said.
