A man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly asking his fellow motel guests for drugs and pulling a knife on one of them.

Roy Thomas Barrett, 50, was arrested at the Royal Inn on a disturbance charge.

Court documents say Casper police officers arrived at the motel around 8:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of a man who was in the parking lot screaming and trying to pick fights.

The motel's manager told officers that Barrett was a guest, but she wanted him to leave after he allegedly asked for drugs and assaulted people.

Another guest at the motel said Barrett knocked on his door and asked for marijuana and methamphetamine. When the man told Barrett he didn't have any drugs, Barrett allegedly grabbed the man by his shirt and asked if he was a cop, threatening to hurt him with a knife if he called the cops.

The guest did not see a knife, according to the affidavit.

Charging documents say the manager told officers that Barrett tried to fight several other guests. She told him to leave, but he reportedly refused.

Motel staff took steps to ensure the safety of their guests. Officers found Barrett and told him to leave. He again allegedly refused to leave.

Officers arrested Barrett for causing a disturbance and took him to jail.
