Library Director Finalists To Speak At Forum Next Week
The community will have the opportunity to hear from the three finalists for the director's position at the Natrona County Public Library, according to a news release.
The finalists, whose names will be released Monday, will speak and answer questions at a forum at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the library at 307 E. Second St.
The search committee — composed of the Natrona County Library Board of Trustees and representatives from the Natrona County Library Foundation and Friends of the Library — hopes to have negotiations completed with the new director by early March with a start date in early April.
Former director Bill Nelson retired last August after serving as the library's director for 16 years.
In November, after conducting a nationwide search and narrowing the pool of candidates to three finalists, the search committee decided to continue the search rather than hire one of the finalists.
The library will not have to pay an additional consultant fee for the extended search. Money for the consultant is being paid with funds that would have been spent on the director's salary.
The library has a budget of nearly $3 million for the 2015-2016 fiscal year, with most of that support coming from the county.
According to the job advertisement posted by search firm Bradbury Associates/Gossage Sager Associates, the salary range for the new director would be between $85,000 and $99,800, depending on experience and qualifications.
