Learn about the First Cabin Ever Built in Wyoming [VIDEO]
Robert Stuart built the first known cabin in Wyoming on the confluence of the North Platte River and Poison Spider Creek. Stuart and his crew were part of the fur trade set up by John Jacob Astor. The cabin was made of rocks and buffalo hides and was only a pit stop on the way from Oregon to St Louis. The trip was historically significant because it was the first time Westerners had traveled through the South Pass.
