College Values Online just released a study of the 50 best small college towns in America and Laramie, Wyoming tops the list.

The study took into consideration cost of living, unemployment and crime rates.  But beyond that they took looked at each town and asked - Would you want to make that town your home?

Here is the ranking methodology used.

Cost of Living
Cost of living is lower than the national average- 1 point
Cost of living is lower than the state average – 1 point

Unemployment Rate
Unemployment rate is lower than the national average- 1 point
Unemployment rate is lower than the state average- 1 point

Crime Rate
Crime rate is lower than the national average- 1 point
Crime rate is lower than the state average- 1 point

Wow Factor
1 point for each unique feature that “wowed” us
