If there was a tournament for the best basketball fans in the country, Laramie would make the big dance. According to a new study from the finance website Wallet Hub, Laramie has the 63rd best group of hoops fans in America.

The study rated 300 cities across the nation based on several factors, including their support of local NBA or Division 1 college teams, attendance rates at games, ticket prices, stadium accessibility and even the number of sports bars, per capita.

Storrs, Connecticut, home of the defending NCAA champion UConn Huskies, finished first in their rankings, followed by Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and San Antonio, the home of the NBA champion Spurs. Of the 300 cities studied, Jersey City, New Jersey, finished last. Riverside, California, and Kansas City, Missouri, weren't far behind.

Laramie's ranking compared favorably to other cities in the region.  Denver finished 16th on the list, Boulder was ranked 120th, Fort Collins placed 191st, Colorado Springs came in 216th and our friends down in Greeley landed near the bottom, ranking 286th out of 300.
