Julia Roberts was most definitely not in Casper (or anywhere else in Wyoming) over this weekend.

A click-bait website, Daily News 11, has been circulating a story around the country that stated Julia Roberts had a small vehicle incident and had received assistance from locals. The article even had a quote, supposedly from Ms Pretty Woman herself, that read:

"Well, we had a flat tire just as we were about to leave the city limits of Casper and two, maybe three cars pulled over within five minutes to help us with it. And no, they had no idea who I was before they pulled over. They were very helpful and very friendly. I gotta say, I was really impressed with the people of Casper, Wyoming! That would’ve never happened in L.A.!"

An interesting enough story and one any Wyomingite would love to read. After all, we all like to know superstars are traveling through our humble abode and even better when they give us kudos.

Unfortunately, it's completely false! If you click on the about button on Daily News 11 website, it clearly states:

Daily News 11 is a fantasy news site.  Most articles on dailynews11.com are satire or pure fantasy.

If you were one the many that were fooled by the presence of this story on social media (especially Facebook), don't feel bad. Apparently the site works so well, it can generate the same story to read any city and state in the country. It appears Daily News 11 is just one in an entire network of websites with different names that produce these types of stories. Here's the exact same Julia Roberts flat tire story with the city changed to Sunrise, Florida (click here).
