Is That A Steak In Your Pajamas, Or…
Casper police have solved the three-decade-old question: "Where's the beef?"
Fady Osseiran had it.
Officers responded to a call at the west-side Albertsons grocery store on CY Avenue at 5 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a shoplifting in progress, according to an affidavit filed in Natrona County Circuit Court.
"Officers were advised that a male wearing pajama pants and a flannel shirt stuffed a large package of beef down his pants, and was leaving the store," according to the affidavit. "Officers were further advised that the male was running from Albertsons with the large package of meat stuffed down his pants."
They followed him down an alley between Boxelder and Willow streets, caught him, cuffed him, and later identified him as Osseiran. Officers searched him and found two marijuana pipes.
After being read his rights, Osseiran said the pipes weren't his and he picked them up so children wouldn't find them.
He said he stole the meat -- rib eye steaks priced at $32.22 -- because he was hungry and did not have enough money for food.
Albertsons loss-prevention manager told officers he wanted Osseiran trespassed from the store for life.
One of the pipes tested positive for marijuana.
Police charged Osseiran with shoplifting and possession of marijuana.
