House Falls on Casper Construction Worker

The construction worker involved in Wednesday's incident passed away, the Natrona County Coroner's Office confirmed on Thursday.

A construction worker was hospitalized Wednesday after a house fell on him.

Lt. Ben Mattila of the Casper Police Department says the incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. in the area of 12th and Nebraska. Multiple police units, multiple units of the Casper Fire-EMS Department and an ambulance responded to the scene.

The extent to which the man was injured was not immediately clear, but he was taken to the hospital.

Mattila says the house had been lifted from its foundation so that work could be performed on the foundation. It was unclear what exactly caused the house to shift and fall on the man who was injured.

The scene was secured in order to protect any people who may pass by overnight.
