For nearly two decades, Bobby Holik was one of the toughest players in the National Hockey League. The 2-time Stanley Cup winner, NHL All-Star and Czech Republic native now calls the Cowboy State home

In 1996, Holik became a United States citizen and moved to Wyoming following his retirement in 2009.

During his 18-year playing career, he scored more than 300 goals, 400 assists and spent over 1,400 minutes in the penalty box.

These days, Holik is a family man and  a different kind of sharpshooter. The avid hunter is a rifle, pistol and shotgun instructor. He also serves a celebrity spokesman for CZ-USA firearms.

Holik and his wife now live on a ranch near Jackson, where they raise horses and are active in local politics. His daughter Hannah has also competed in equestrian events across the country.

Holik will always be revered in the Czech Republic, where his father Jaroslav was a member of the 1972 World Championship team and later coached Czech national team.

The former hockey legend has traveled the world, but he insists that there's no place like Wyoming.

"Look at this," he said in a 2013 interview with Planet Jackson Hole. "This is my favorite time – when there is a little bit of snow on the mountain tops mixed with the fall colors and the grass is still green. You got everything here.”
