In case you need to be told, there will be a lot of cursing in this post. But since it's educational, that's alright!

George Carlin, arguably the best comedian of his time, once recorded his thoughts about the f-bomb. You can find that video at the end of this article.

The f-word's origins are somewhat of a mystery. While there are numerous reports stating that the word "fuck" is an acronym for "Forbidden Use of Carnal Knowledge" "Found Under Carnal Knowledge", "Fornication Under Consent of the King", and "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge In the Nude" (fuckin), none of these have been verified. As a matter of fact, these f-word origins didn't appear until the 1960's.

Here's what's known: The f-bomb has been around since at least the 1400's. The first documented evidence of "fuck" appears in  the satirical poem "Flen, Flyss", where it was not only disguised as a Latin word but encrypted — gxddbov — which has been deciphered as fuccant, pseudo-Latin for "they fuck." (Get the whole story here)

The word "fuck" crept, fully formed, into the English language from Dutch or Low German around the 15th century, with possible ties to earlier Latin.

While always considered vulgar, "Fuck" is a word that will never go away. Used in a variety of different ways (which you'll see in the insanely accurate video below), dropping the f-bomb is the easiest way to express your feelings...no matter what they are.
