Earlier this week, Queensryche and their former frontman Geoff Tate revealed that a settlement had been reached that detailed each act's future plans concerning the name. The remaining members of the band will retain the name, while Tate has obtained the right to perform the group's 'Operation: Mindcrime' album and its sequel. But before the agreement kicks in, Tate will have one final trek under the Queensryche moniker that he's utilized over the past year since his ousting from the band.

Bravewords.com reports that the tour is officially billed, "Queensyrche Starring Geoff Tate -- The Farewell Tour" and it will take place toward the end of summer, beginning July 30 in Hermosa Beach, Calif. After his exit from the group, Tate formed his own version of Queensryche and the band includes bassist Rudy Sarzo, guitarist Robert Sarzo, guitarist Kelly Gray, drummer Simon Wright and keyboardist Randy Gane.

While there was a very public disagreement between Tate and his former bandmates (who now tour as Queensryche with vocalist Todd La Torre), the singer says it's important for both sides that the case never went to court and that they were able to work out an amicable decision. After the summer run, Tate will continue touring, but it seems as if he will be billed as "Geoff Tate: The Voice of Queensryche," which is how he's being presented on his official website now.

Tickets for the farewell tour go on sale this weekend for a majority of the shows.
