This was bound to happen eventually. Last week, a marijuana dispensary announced plans for the first 'Gas and Grass', which would combine medical and recreational marijuana sales with a gas station and convenience store.

The Gas and Grass franchise is the brainchild of Native Roots, a Colorado company that owns 11 dispensaries around the state. According to their spokesperson Tia Mattson, "It’s really just kind of pairing the convenience in one specific stop."

In addition to gas and grass, the store will also sell lottery tickets, beverages, cigarettes and items found in convenience stores. The marijuana dispensary will have a separate entrance and is subject to all state laws regulating recreational marijuana sales.

Owner plan to open the two 'Gas and Grass' stores next month in Colorado Springs. They hope to expand the franchise across the state of Colorado in 2016.
