From its humble origins back in 2003, when it had an unprintable name and took place in a single club, FYF Fest has grown into Los Angeles' premier indie-music festival, scoring high-profile headliners like My Bloody Valentine and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Well, they just announced their 2014 lineup, and they've raised the bar yet again.

In addition to scoring the Strokes, Phoenix and Haim as headliners, FYF Fest 2014 features a who's-who of up-and-coming indie acts spanning nearly every genre, from Real Estate's jangly guitar-pop and Grimes' leftfield synth meditations to Deafheaven's black metal/shoegaze experiments and Future Islands' throwback synth-pop.

Can't-miss veteran acts and reunion shows are peppered throughout the lineup as well, including groundbreaking art-punks Blood Brothers and shoegaze legends Slowdive. Interpol, Little Dragon, Built to Spill, Against Me! and solo sets by both the Strokes' Julian Casablancas and Albert Hammond, Jr. are just some of the other noteworthy names on the bill.

FYF Fest 2014 goes down Aug. 23-24 and will move for the first time to the LA Sports Arena and Exposition Park, where it will feature both indoor and outdoor stages and expanded food offerings. Two-day tickets will set you back $129, with single-day tickets going for $89. Tickets go on sale May 22 at 12PM here.

Let's play this post out with some Phoenix, because it's Friday, and this song sounds like the weekend:
