Free Beer & Hot Wings: Man Drives Cross-Country with Dead Woman in Passenger Seat

Remember the movie "National Lampoon's Vacation?"

The movie told the story of the Griswold family driving cross country from Chicago to go to the amusement park Walley World in Los Angeles. With them for the journey was old Aunt Edna. Poor Aunt Edna didn't do so well along the way, though, and passed away before arriving. So the Griswolds forged ahead, simply strapping Edna to the roof for the rest of the journey.

This news story isn't the exact same situation, but it was a good opportunity to make a "National Lampoon's Vacation" reference! This story is much creepier.

A Michigan man from suburban Detroit traveled from his home to a Glendale, Ariz., mental health facility in suburban Phoenix to pick up a woman he was supposedly in a relationship with.

On the way home, they stopped at a rest stop. When the woman got back in the van, it is believed that she died immediately.

Instead of alerting authorities, the dude just kept driving and driving. All the way back to Michigan!

He just propped the woman up in the passenger seat, put a pair of sunglasses on her and things were business as usual for him. To top it all off, the guy's 92-year-old mother was in her wheelchair in the back of the van and was not given access to a bathroom for the 26-hour drive, WJBK-TV reported.

This is all horrible.
