On Thursday night, Vincent Stover, an autistic player on the Mountain Ridge High School football team near Phoenix, entered the game against late against North Canyon.

On his first play, he was tackled pretty hard an excessively by an opposing player.

That's all it took for retaliation to happen and both benches to clear.

Now both teams are sitting out the rest of the season and forfeiting their remaining games, KNXV-TV ABC 15 reported.

North Canyon High School officials say they were not aware Stover was autistic.
