Frefighters quickly put out a house fire in west Casper early this morning, according to a news release from the Casper Fire-EMS Department.

The department responded to a call at 2:30 a.m. for the fire at the back of the house in the 6000 block of Blue Springs Road.

Smoke detectors alerted the occupants of the residence and evacuated before the firefighters arrived. Neighbors also assisted alerting the occupants and reporting the fire.

There were no injuries reported.

Damage is extensive. Damages to the interior and contents were limited, but the exterior and some structural components of the roof were significantly affected. As a result, the residence is uninhabitable at this time.

A damage estimate is not yet available. The occupants were issued an assistance check from the City/County Burn Fund.

The cause is not yet known. Investigators from Casper-Fire-EMS are working to determine how it started. It apparently started outside in the area of a deck. Additional details will be released if they become available.

Initially, 15 fire personnel responded. Casper Fire-EMS was assisted by the Natrona County Fire Protection District, Casper Police, and the Wyoming Medical Center.
