What did Dirty Heads do during their summer vacation (a.k.a. a few days off during their summer tour)? They filmed a sweet new video for 'Silence' using cutting-edge video technology.

The California alternative rock outfit shot the video with Red Digital Cinema Camera Company using a state-of-the-art Scarlet Dragon camera and just released the clip as, what they called on Facebook, a "surprise" for fans.

"‘Silence’ is probably my favorite song on the album,” frontman Jared Watson said in a statement. “There’s just something about it. That song, to me, is just so big and nasty and dark and badass … I just love it. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. The whole idea behind it is that the ‘silence is deafening.’ Silence is a very, very powerful thing."

Check out the video below, which is sure to make an appearance in our weekly Top 10 Video Countdown. The song comes from the band's latest full-length, 'Sound of Change.'
