Watch Deftones Perform ‘Prayers/Triangles’ + ‘Hearts/Wires’ for ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ Crowd

Deftones rocked the Jimmy Kimmel Live! audience last night (April 12), playing a seven-song set for the outdoor crowd, with “Prayers/Triangles” the lone song airing on the late-night talk show and “Hearts/Wires” featured as a bonus performance on Kimmel's YouTube channel.

Deftones released their eighth studio album, Gore, last week receiving a mostly positive response from fans and critics so far. The lush record is filled with heavy yet etherial cuts and “Prayers/Triangles” and “Hearts/Wires” are perfect representations to introduce new fans to Gore. Off the air, the band also performed "Rubicon," "Diamond Eyes," "Tempest," "Swerve City" and "Rocket Skates" for the Kimmel crowd.

“[Prayers/Triangles] made me think of [Buffalo] Bill [from Silence of the Lambs] the whole time – psycho killer and s—t. I just didn't feel it," guitarist Stephen Carpenter told Rolling Stone. "I had to embrace my inner psycho rapist and come up with the part and get into it."

"I think Deftones have always flirted with dynamic and that yin-and-yang of things that are provocative and things that are beautiful,” frontman Chino Moreno recently told Kerrang! magazine. “Where our last two album titles were a lot more optimistic, I think this title is intentionally different. This record is very different.”
