Toward the end of last year we learned that Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie had played his final show with the band. We also learned that although he was leaving Death Cab, he had been a full contributor on their next album, which we now know is 'Kintsugi,' due out at the end of March.

Today (Jan. 16), Ben Gibbard revealed via Instagram that Death Cab's first show without Walla will be this coming Tuesday at the Crocodile in their hometown of Seattle. If you live in the area, you can pick up your tickets here.

In addition to the concert announcement, Death Cab have revealed details for their new record's first single, 'Black Sun.' While no audio has been shared (yet), the lyrics are being slowly unveiled in a unique way:

Ben has hand painted the lyrics of the next Death Cab for Cutie single onto a canvas and cut it into 33 unique pieces. Those pieces have been sent to fans who have no idea what they’re about to receive. Wait and watch as they help reveal the lyrics.

Get more details on 'Black Sun' here -- and if you're one of the lucky fans who received a piece of the lyrics, let us know!
