Corey Taylor stopped to speak with Loudwire Nights host Toni Gonzalez at Live Nation's National Concert Day last week, and he offered us the scoop on the next Stone Stour album, including when he expects it to be released.

Stone Sour have started to work on the the new disc, which follows their two-part House of Gold & Bones albums, which came out in 2012 and 2013. The band has tweeted out about the new album, but haven't offered up too many details.

Taylor tells Loudwire that his biggest commitment is to Slipknot's touring this year, but that Stone Sour are "getting together every couple months writing songs." He adds that the band has been prolific in their songwriting, saying they have 15 songs written and intend to write at least 10 more.

As for when it's coming out, Taylor points to summer 2017 as the target date, saying the band will "hopefully get into the studio either January or February of next year." In terms of sound, Taylor adds, "It's got elements of metal, it's got elements of hard rock [and] it's got elements of punk."
