A Castle Rock, Colo., resident died in a one-vehicle crash east of Green River on Wednesday, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Blake Palmer, 19, was driving a sport utility vehicle westbound on Interstate 80 when it drifted into the median about one mile east of Green River at 12:25 p.m.

The SUV entered a slide, and tripped and rolled multiple times.

Palmer was wearing his seat belt, and he was not ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating distracted driving because of cell phone use as the contributing factor to the crash.

This marked the 75th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2016. There were 100 fatalities this same time last year.
