Clint Webb Sentenced For Trying To Kill His Wife

A Casper man convicted of trying to run over his wife with a vehicle after she filed for divorce, will be spending time behind bars.

Clint Webb was sentenced to 35-to-52 years in prison, after a jury found him guilty of one charge of attempted second degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of property destruction.

The prosecution said on June 30th, 2014, Clint had been served divorce papers from his wife, Julie.

While out driving, he spotted Julie driving as well, and Clint collided his vehicle into hers, at the intersection of 12th and Payne Streets in Casper.

Clint then circled around the block and returned to the scene, where he attempted to hit Julie, who had exited her vehicle, but missed.

He then fled to Las Vegas, where he eventually turned himself in.

Prosecutors said while he was on the run, he texted a friend and said that he saw Julie and he just snapped.

Clint said he was trying to get his wife's attention, so they could talk about the divorce issue, and the vehicle collision was not part of the plan, but it happened.

He then panicked and tried to reverse his vehicle to return to the scene, but he couldn't due to the damage his vehicle had sustained, so he drove around the block instead.

When he returned he panicked again due to all the congestion in the area with people and vehicles, and was trying to get around the scene.

Webb claimed he did not see his wife at the time and then lost control of his vehicle and sideswiped another vehicle nearby.

He has also been ordered to pay more than $3,800 in restitution.

The actual sentence is five-to-seven years for each of the aggravated assault conviction, and one-to-three years for the property destruction conviction.

Those three sentences will run concurrently, or at the same time.

When that is finished, Webb will then start a 30-45 year prison sentence, for the attempted second degree murder conviction.
