Six downtown businesses will pitch their proposals for snagging a lone bar and grill liquor license during a long Casper City Council Work session beginning at 4:30 p.m. today.

"They are applying and producing a proposal and giving a presentation on a retail liquor license that the City of Casper has available," said Tracey Belser of the City Manager's office.

"So that license has restrictions to have the license be available downtown area, and it won't follow the person who is awarded," Belser said. "It will be the establishment, the location."

The city accepted the license proposals through June, and they had to include a clear and concise business plan, and a site plan with public parking clearly identified.

The business plan also had to show how receiving the license would contribute to the economic development goals of the city; whether construction or renovation of a building would be involved, and an estimate of new or additional jobs would be created.

These are six businesses and their owners who will be speaking to the council at the work session:

  • 4:30 p.m. -- Charles T. and Merry Jane Walsh, doing business as The Wolcott Galleria, LLC.
  • 5 p.m. -- Glenda Thomas and Citizens for a Civic Auditorium, doing business as The Lyric.
  • 5:30 p.m. -- Jeremy Hugus, doing business as Plattebread, LLC.
  • 6 p.m. -- John Huff, Charger Holding, LLC, doing business as The Yellowstone Garage.
  • 6:30 p.m. -- Jacqueline Anderson, The Chelsea Group of Wyoming, doing business as Jacquie’s Bistro, Brunch and Bar.
  • 7 p.m. -- Matt Galloway and Pete Maxwell, doing business as Roaring 22, LLC.

Besides the presentations, city council also will review the budget and hear a report from City Manager V.H. McDonald.
