The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: Stage III Community Theatre, December 9th and 10th, 16th-18th  In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids–probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem – and the fun – when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on.  More information here.

Medal of Honor recipient Army Sergeant Kyle Jerome White will be the guest speaker during Casper College’s “Military Movie and Memoirs” event on, Saturday, Dec. 10 in the Sharon D. Nichols Auditorium. Movie “Restrepo” at 10:00am, lunch at noon, talk to share experiences at 12:45. Free and open to the public.   More information here.

The Food for Thought Winter Makers Market: Downtown Grille and Venue on Second Street, 10:00am-2:00am

The Tate Geological Museum’s Holiday Open House will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.The day will include face painting, an ornament workshop, and the Shark Tooth Hunt, where participants can find and keep their own fossil shark teeth and shells. Kids 5 and older will also be able to come and make a present to give to someone special at Christmas. Santasaurus available for pictures. Free, open to public.  More information here.

Holiday on the Homestead: A Homespun Christmas, National Historic Trails Interpretive Center  December 10th 9:00am-3:00 pm. Operate model railroad trains, learn about a Homespun Christmas with active demonstrations, enjoy yummy treats at the Prairie Sweet Shop, view our gingerbread houses, watch a blacksmith operate, and much more. The celebration is free and open to the public. However, visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to benefit the local non-profit, Wyoming Food for Thought Project.

“A Winter Wonderland” is the theme for this year’s Winter Concert to be presented by the Casper College Music Department on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2:30 p.m. in the Music Building. The concert will feature three Casper College groups: The Brass Ensemble and the Concert Band, both under the direction of Douglas Bull, and the Flute Ensemble under the direction of Delores Thornton. The annual Festival Choir & Orchestra Concert,  Sunday, Dec. 11, 4:00 pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.The choir will present a variety of works, including Mag Shaw’s “Many Moods of Christmas: Suite Three,” the Anita Kerr arrangement of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” and Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.” Also performing will be harpist and violinist Connie and Jack Wallace, the Oil City Barbershop Chorus and the Phoenix Ringers Handbell Choir.
